Home Based Business Leads: 5 Tips For Securing The Best Leads

So you’ve joined a network marketing company or decided to start building your home based business and you are starting to make a list of home based business leads who will be “hot” prospects. When you first joined up with your company, it was basically a “no brainer” that people would want to join you or purchase your products.  After all, joining it or starting it was a simple decision on your part.  It was a fantastic opportunity, anyone would want to join me on my journey right?  Wrong.

If you started on this journey thinking that everyone would be thinking like yourself, then unfortunately you have stepped into unchartered waters. It does not work that way.  The internet has changed the way people work, live, think, eat and breathe.  What worked 20 years ago does not work any longer and you need to change with the times.  So where do you find “hot” prospects for your home based business?  You can do one of three things:  1) You can buy the leads or 2) you can build your own list or 3) do it the old fashioned way and work your warm market. All 3 methods work but let’s concentrate on buying home based business leads to build your business.

The first thing to understand is that “buying” a lead does not equate with success. Simply buying a lead does is not a guarantee of a golden nugget. It will still take work to bring that person on board but more on the back end as opposed to the front end. But buying leads can be a great option and done correctly, will help to grow and sustain your business.

So if buying home based business leads is the route you choose here are 5 easy tips to ensure a successful transition from lead to customer or partner.

  1. Look for a good lead company offering truly “hot” qualified prospects.  A good rule of thumb would be no older than a few weeks, preferably a lead who is “fresh and hot” right off of the turntable.  Any older and it is a waste of time and money.
  2. Be sure the lead is “qualified”.  In other words, be sure the company you are using does not offer incentives to join their list or fill out a survey.  You want a lead who was interested enough to fill out a survey without any prodding or coaching.
  3. Be sure the company you purchase from does not work with “oversold” leads. In other words, how many other people have already received these leads as prospects before you?  If more than 2, then say goodbye.  The lead or prospect will likely be gone by the time you reach out or so frustrated with being called, will not want to talk with you or anyone.
  4. Deal with a company who checks addresses and phone numbers for accuracy. Nothing is more frustrating than calling a group of leads to find that 1 or 2 out of 10 are good numbers.
  5. Be sure the leads are 100% “opt-in” leads.  In other words, no leads which have been recycled over and over again and spit out to you as a “hot” lead.

If you find a company that adheres to the above, then chances are the leads will be good, quality leads for your business.  The rest of course is up to you.

There is no magic bullet but starting with good, quality home based business leads is definitely a step in the right direction for building a lasting and sustainable home based business.
